Mentoring
In a society where young people without an education are more susceptible to gangs,
drug abuse, abusive work situations, and prostitution, the mentoring aspect cannot
be overemphasized. Many students regularly work with our staff in the school’s building
maintenance, feeding program, and other mission outreach programs. We are able to
share the love of Christ frequently and are often the source of parental wisdom
that they lack in their own families.
High School Scholarship Program
Approximately 80% of the children in Escuela Integrada, Antigua do not have a father
active in their lives.
Escuela Integrada provides additional scholarships to students who:
- Are studying at an academic level that our institutions don’t yet provide (i.e.
high school),
- Are physically located far from our installations Have petitioned us for help.
There are fifteen (15) students in this program this year, 2006 and we are expecting
to give approximately fifteen (15) such scholarships in the year 2007.
All students who currently study with us at the level of middle school will be offered
an opportunity to continue on to high school through this program. In 2008 we expect
45 high school scholarships to be granted. In 2009 there will be 70.
